During treatment, a large rectangular window emitting broad-spectrum light is applied to the skin. The energy passes safely through the epidermis and dermis until it reaches the hair follicle. The melanin within the hair absorbs the light, heats rapidly, and destroys the hair-producing cells. Because the heat is not sustained, surrounding tissue remains unharmed.

Additional Restrictions:

  • No self-tanners 5 days prior

  • No heavy sun exposure 20 days prior

  • No sun exposure 2 days prior

  • No Accutane 6 months prior

  • No waxing, chemical depilatories, or lytic products

  • Not suitable for pregnant or nursing women

Injections:

  • No Botox 7 days prior

  • No dermal fillers 14 days prior

  • Botox and dermal fillers may be administered after treatment
